PMS is NOT Normal



Some PMS symptoms: 

  • Headaches

  • Insomnia

  • Fatigue

  • Bloating, weight gain

  • Anxiety, depressive feelings, mood swings, irritability

  • Breast tenderness

  • Heavy, painful menstruation

  • Cramps

PMS symptoms is a cry for help, telling your body that something isn’t right with your hormones (estrogen an progesterone). You might have too much estrogen and too little progesterone. 


  • Poor Diet

  • Nutrient Deficiencies (ex. Magnesium, Vitamin)

  • Stress

  • Obesity

  • Aging

Ways to stop:

  • Lower sugar intake

  • Ditch red meat, dairy and alcohol

  • Avoid cold or raw food before your period

  • Cut out white bread, pasta, white rice

  • Mange your stress level (ex. Massage, Hot Bath, Naps, Yoga)

  • Exercise

  • Herbs (ex. Dong Quai aka “female ginseng” or Bai Shao aka “white peony”..just to name a few)

  • Acupuncture with infrared heat lamp

Going on the pill, taking pain killer, or even anti-depressant does not solve the underlying problem. Acupuncture and herbs not only focus on regulating your hormones, emotions, energy, and cravings they help regulate the blood flow for heavy, painful periods!
